(Baby Gray at 36 weeks!)
We are in the home stretch! Cuh-RAY-zee! (Yes, I just turned a two-syllable word into a three :).
We had our 36 week appointment and everything is looking good! However, our little man has turned from the perfect head-down position to posterior (which means his head is still down, but instead of facing my spine he’s facing my stomach), which can mean a longer and not-so-pleasant labor (ever heard of back labor?). Since we area planning to give birth naturally, this is definitely not ideal, so I have been doing exercises to get him to move, and also praying 🙂 🙂
I can’t believe that he could be here any day! Granted, he’s not due until the beginning of November, but at our last appointment, we were told he can come at any time. We bought a pack-in-play that will serve as crib & changing station until our house is done (will be about 6 weeks after Baby Gray is born if all stays on schedule). We were setting that up last night (took a few minutes of wresting with it, but now we are pros), and I was sitting on the couch looking at it, and got hit with a dose of reality – soon a little person is going to be in there and our lives will never be the same. Oh man. It really is hard to imagine, but soon it will be hard for us to remember what we did before baby!
For those of you wondering, we are pretty sure we have settled on a name! We have all of our family guessing which names they think we picked and it’s fun seeing the guesses come in 🙂
For the most part, I am still feeling really good! I have been keeping up with my almost daily mile long walks and I’ve also started pre-natal yoga. The only slight discomfort I’m having is mid-back soreness when I sit at my eggshell cool-looking office chair. Zach wants to buy me a fancy, nice chair, but I was told it doesn’t make that much of a difference and besides, now that our final IN-CAMERA video launch is over, we are just about ready to take time off.
Speaking of time off, we have a few loose ends to wrap up with our work and then we are taking the rest of the month off – or until the little man decides to make his appearance! Then once he’s born we’ll be taking off two months, and maybe even longer through January depending on when our home is finished to give us time to move and get settled. So many new things and changes ahead! It is such a blessing to work for yourself and have the flexibility to take the time off. We have been really diligent with our finances and planned and prepared for this so we’re excited that we’ll be able to devote our attention fully to our newest family member. No worries though, we’ll still be posting baby updates 🙂
Our anniversary is next month – we’ll be celebrating 8 years! It’s hard to believe we have been married that long! Seeing that we will have a three week old, I’m not sure if we will really be able to do a full weekend get-away like we save for and try to do each year so we’re thinking of celebrating early this month and making it sort of an anniversary/baby moon. If anyone has any ideas of fun places we can go and/or fun things for us to do within a 2 hr radius in Nashville, leave a comment below!
Thanks for reading and being a part of this journey with us.
